DiscipleDISCIPLE will release their latest, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, on Sept. 14 with INO Records.

The newest project, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, was a collective songwriting effort for the band. The 12-track album is loaded with spiritual sentiments, spanning subjects as diverse as hope, redemption, perseverance and self-esteem.

The first radio single off of the record, “Dear X, You Don’t Own Me” is already No. 1 on the Christian Rock chart and No. 14 at CHR. The song comes from the perspective of a person writing an all-encompassing letter to pain, shame, hate and anger. “All of those negative things can chase us, this song says ‘you can chase me all you want, but I’ve moved on,’” says band front man Kevin Young. The single is also currently available early at digital retailers. “Shot Heard Around the World” is another battle anthem from the GMA Dove Award winners who are known for their tunes being supported by athletic mainstays ESPN, NFL, WWE, Speed TV and more. The empowering “Invisible,” which was co-written with acclaimed tunesmith Ben Glover (Brandon Heath, Fireflight), was inspired by stories of concertgoer’s struggles with cutting and suicide.Disciple

“Every time we write a song, one of our goals is how it will affect somebody, not just the lost, but believers who also need to be encouraged, guided and shepherded,” explains Young. “I feel like it’s very important for us to be honest in everything that we say and to create art that’s true to who we are to reach people as clearly as possible.”

In keeping with Disciple’s tireless touring movement, the guys are loading up their buses for a tour alongside Thousand Foot Krutch during the months of Sept./Oct then dates with Red and Brian “Head” Welch from Korn in Nov., followed by a European trek and a return to the States for a solo-headlining jaunt.
