INTENSE MILLENNIUM RECORDS has released 60 second audio clips of the entire RANSOM self-titled remaster at this location.
Women in rock have always had a steep hill to climb. In the late 70’s and early 80’s, singers like Wendy Kaiser (Rez Band), Sandy Brock (Servant) and Nancyjo Mann (Barnabas) legitimized the idea of women forcefully belting out lyrics reflecting their faith over a variety of rock and metal sounds. Lisa Faxon and the guys in RANSOM took that to the next level in 1990 with their eponymous debut. Fusing the commercial heavy metal sounds of the 80s glam scene with melodic hard rock sensibilities, the band created a debut record teeming with melody and hooks, highlighted by a strong rhythm section, Lisa’s soaring vocals, and guitarist Tony Ortiz’s combination of tasteful rhythm guitar playing and wild leads.
“Ransom” will be released world wide on January 25th.
