It was reported yesterday that Jimmy Brown would not be performing with DELIVERANCE at this year’s NordicFest, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow and run through October 30th. Jimmy Brown has issued a statement regarding the issues behind his inability to be there and perform.
The statement reads as follows:
Greetings all…
First, this is difficult as to I was looking forward to this show with all of my heart… But, unfortunately the State Department didn’t see fit to issue me the needed passport to leave the Country… It’s a long story, and maybe one day I will regale you all with the tale…
For now, I apologize to the wonderful people of Norway and beyond that were planning to come see “D” do their thing! The good thing is that “D” is playing, just without me… I consider Mike, Jim and Tim “D”… They have put many years into playing with me, and Jim has been our honorary member for 20 years, not to mention my long time friend of 25 years… The guys will rock your socks off, and Eli will belt out the songs with intensity! It will be a good show, and you will kick yourself if you miss it!
I would like to thank Chaz Bond for his thoughtful consideration… Chaz and I have been buds for some 10 years now, and I know he knows all the material like he wrote it! But, he has his commitments to his job and family and was unable to oblige! Again, thank you Chaz for even trying… You didn’t let me down Bro!!!
And I want to thank Eli for stepping in and helping us out! He to is a big fan of “D”, and he will do a wonderful job!
And, I would really like to thank Mike, Jim and Tim… You guys are my Bro’s and Homies! I wish I could be there… And, you know I would if I were able… We will get over this hurdle soon enough and go do some more shows in the future… I am glad you all showed the fortitude to go and kick some major gluteus maximus!!!
And to Paal and Nordic Fest 2010… We will get there soon enough… That’s a promise!!!
