Ohio based metal band Biogenesis, who had released an album in 2001 titled “The Mark Bleeds Through” on Rowe Productions, had recently announced that the band had reunited and had signed on with Retroactive Records for the release of a new album in 2010. Yesterday, vocalist Chaz Bond released the following statement in regards to the Biogenesis camp:
I am sure that many of you have been wondering what in the world is going on with Bio since we announced our return as well as a signing with Retroactive Records last year. Over the past few months there have been a few shake ups in Bio ville. First of all we have the return of drummer Nevin Cline who was let go in Febuary for personal issues. We have worked out some differances and he is back in the sattle. The truth is there has never been anyone more dedicated to Bio than Nevin.
Also we have a new guitarist. No he is not replacing James Riggs. He is an excellent lead shredder who will add another dimension to the band that we have historically lacked in the past. His name is Paul Anthony witte.
Aside from the member changes we have requested and was granted a release from our contract with Retroactive Records. There are no hard feelings toward the label. Things just werent working out to where the label could fullfill their end of the contract and so this move became necessary. We wish Matt and the label well for the future of the label. That said, we are in the process of speaking with a new label but I will not reviel that label until a contract is finalized but it apears that a deal is imminent. That would mean that at the very least you will all get a chance to get theis long awaited sophmore Bio album after all.
In speaking of the new album that was schedualed to be titled “Point Of Origin”, in light of all these unexpected twists and turns I have decided to change the name of the new album. The new title will be “The Rise, The Fall And The Rebirth”. I will announce a new label and more very soon.
