Of Mice & Men have checked in from the pre-production recording process for its new album with producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure). You can read the update below:
“Over the course of the last week, we’ve been doing demoing/pre-production with Joey Sturgis at The Foundation Studio. Some of you may not be familiar with this process so we’re gonna explain it to you. We basically get all of our ideas ‘out on the table’ (so to speak) and record all of our ideas as demo songs.
“We then break apart each song and put it back together piece by piece to test the strength of the song. We also did a lot of writing while we’ve been here, reformulating ideas as well as coming up with brand new ones to make every song just the way we want it to sound.
“So, reaching the final stages of this process, we’ve ended up with about 12/13 tracks. Starting today, we will track all of these songs (which means record the final draft of the song) and we will then go in and choose which ones we feel will make our album the most powerful and an overall best representation of OM&M “
