Place of SkullsTennessee based doom metal band PLACE OF SKULLS have announced the band’s fourth full-length album will be entitled “As A Dog Returns“. In conjunction with the new release, PLACE OF SKULLS will embark on a European tour alongside Japanese doom rock trio Eternal Elysium. The tour will run from October 23rd to November 8th and kick off at the fourth annual Hammer Of Doom Fest in Würzburg, Germany. Guitarist/vocalist Victor Griffin commented of the upcoming full-length and run of tour dates:

“The new album is ready to hit and it’s a hard one to describe. While it has the heaviness and darkness expected from Place of Skulls, no one song is indicative of the entire record. It really has to be heard and meditated on by the individual listener to judge its merits fairly. But whatever the general consensus is, as always, we’ve made another album exactly as we wanted to make it delivering a heavy dose of doom reality with a brighter than ever light at the end of the tunnel! We’re excited to be kicking off a new European tour with Eternal Elysium supporting,” We also have a possible US tour being considered for early 2011, and dates already being confirmed for another European tour in April 2011 including the Roadburn Festival! Thanks to everyone for all their support and Godspeed!”
