Veritas Vinyl and Vinyl Remains have done it again! Who are Veritas Vinyl and Vinyl Remains you may be asking? Well unless you have been living under a rock in the Christian Rock and Metal communities you have probably heard of these two up and coming labels that specialize in reissuing many classic Christian Rock releases on Vinyl! Yes I said ‘Vinyl’ and Vinyl Records are making somewhat of a comeback here in 2012! While the labels focus largely on the Christian Punk Rock scene they have been garnishing a lot of interest in the Rock and Metal communities with their recent releases!
For example this lovely slab of vinyl perfection! A special 25th anniversary pressing of the EP ‘Nailed’ by Christian punk icons, The Crucified! The EP Nailed was a 7 song demo originally only available on a cassette tape! Mark Salomon had this to say about the special pressing “I have always envisioned Nailed being released as a 7-inch.”
Let’s start by saying if you don’t have a record player, or have not had one in years, you really need to go get one! There is still nothing like putting that record on the player, placing the needle down on to the record as the turntable begins to spin. Gently setting the needle down and waiting for that music to come out of your speakers! That is just what I did with ‘Nailed’ and when I heard the tracks coming out of my speakers, some 25 years later there was nothing like it! That analog record sound still blows away the sound of any of those over compressed digital MP3’s in this writer’s humble opinion.
These 7 tracks remastered and put on to vinyl for the very first time is a true treat for any Christian Rock, Metal or Punk fan, a true piece of history! If you were lucky enough to get in quick enough for one of the very special packages you got 3 copies of the EP. A Red vinyl copy (Limited to only 100 copies) a Brown vinyl copy (Limited to 200 copies) and a special ‘Test’ pressing of the EP. Each copy is hand numbered. In the case of my personal copies I have Red vinyl version # 81/300 and the Brown vinyl copy # 178 / 300. Which leads me to believe these 300 pieces are probably nearly sold out already’ If you have not got one yet, you should hurry up and pick up a copy before you end up having to pay tons more on sites like eBay!
Whether you’re a vinyl fan or a Christian rock fan this is a very special pressing not to be missed out on celebrating 25 years of a true piece of Christian rock history!
