American heavy metal veterans STRYPER have announced that their next release will consist of re-recorded versions of fourteen of their classics, in addition to three brand new songs entitled, “Bleeding From Inside Out,” “Blackened” and “How To Live.” A Twitter message from STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet reads as follows:
“It might be best for me to stop Tweeting about the re-record since it seems to be confusing many people. Here’s the facts…
“We’re tracking 17 songs – 14 old classics, 3 brand new songs. We’re doing the record in phases, a little at a time. It won’t be mastered until January, which means it won’t be available until sometime after that. January is not the release date.
“We’re funding this ourselves so it’s a tedious, time consuming task that we have to do in phases due to extensive touring and other things going on between now and the end of the year. So sorry for the confusion and it will be worth the wait!”

Sure they do, I think a re-recording of some of their past hits using today’s technolodgy will sound great! Journey, Foreigner, Eagles, Kiss and other bands have done the same thing (LA Guns as well). I’m interested in hearing how it turns out!
