Victory Over Tyranny is a one man band from Waukesha, Wisconsin. V.O.T.’s demo album, which consists of songs of varying audio quality that have been written and recorded over a period of 7 years, is entitled The Epic Battle Between the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness and the Effects Thereof Upon this Mortal Coil or Epic Battle for short, is now avalable as a FREE and legal download.
The sound is best described as minimalist stoner/doom meets d.i.y. punk rock. Influences include, but are certainly not limited to the likes of Black Sabbath, Wolfmother, Black Flag, The Misfits, Samhain, Blaster the Rocket Man, Lightning Bolt, Nirvana, Robert Johnson, and The White Stripes. Lyrics are mostly inspired by whimsical visions of epic battles and the timeless battle between good and evil.
