Within The Torn Apart finally released a full length on a CD format. This band is well known in the Christian underground scene for releasing a lot of free downloadable albums and splits. This band plays straight up drone with a lot of ambient influences. If you dig Sunn O))) or Earth then you will love this. This is the type of music where you have to sit down in the dark and give it an intense listening session to get into the artist’s madness. The samples really fit in the tracks and the atmosphere is very compelling. It’s definitely not for everyone and the music is full of layers to peel off within each listening session to find something new and you will actually learn how the artist view the world, which is full of darkness yet you can see some redemption which can only be by God’s grace. The album has a very limited 25 copies and you can grab one at DMD if any are still available. I would recommend this only for the listeners who are open-minded and enjoy an intense listening session! Beware . . . the doom will take you over!
