Your Memorial will be releasing their sophomore Facedown album,”Redirect”, on July 17th.
After touring non-stop on their previous album “Atonement”, Your Memorial has returned to the studio and crafted together 12 matured tracks for what is sure to be one of Facedown’s finest releases of 2012. Lyrically and musically, Your Memorial are more focused than ever and it shows through the strength and conviction of every song on “Redirect”. Your Memorial will be on this summer’s “Scream The Prayer” tour alongside Demon Hunter, Sleeping Giant, Emery, Gideon, and more. They will also be playing as direct support to Underoath on this year’s Sonshine Festival in their home state of Minnesota.
The band came to Facedown Records from the Twin Cities of Minnesota with their self released debut album, “Seasons” in hand. Growing up in the shadow of such hometown bands as Martyr A.D., Nehemiah, and After the Burial, Your Memorial recognized the advantage of following the path blazed by the genre patriarchs and seized the opportunity, as well as the inspiration to make their own indelible mark on the genre. Your Memorial does just that with their brand of progressive crushing rhythms that meld into ambient swells of melody.Although their influences span multiple genres, their impassioned laser-focus is what makes Your Memorial a stand-out metal act.
From the band: “It’s time for a new Your Memorial record. We’ve been in the writing process on and off since early 2011 and right now we’re working on wrapping up our third album, and sorting out all of the ideas for pre production. We’re working with our friend Josh Barber, who also was the main engineer on our last record ‘Atonement’, at Covenant Studios in our home away from home Kansas City, MO. We are also really excited to be working with Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studio who will be mixing, mastering, and helping build soundscapes for the record. We’re excited about how the songs are shaping up and can’t wait to share them with everyone.”
