For Today- Prevailer EP
5 out of 5

There are not too many commercially successful Christian Metalcore bands these days, especially ones that blatantly put their beliefs out there in their lyrics. There is, however, one metalcore band that is quickly on the rise, and that band would be ‘For Today’. They hold nothing back in rejoicing and praising the one and only Almighty God in their music. Their lyrics leave you with no doubt as to what they’re about. No hidden messages here pal! Jesus in your face and if ya don’t like the message, then guess what, if you’re a metalcore fan you’ll still love the music. These songs will have you listening to it over and over and I believe the Holy Spirit will start knocking into your conscience. Just as so many others have been touched by the message this band is spreading to all of its listeners, you may eventually find yourself coming to the same knowledge of Jesus,

I became a fan of For Today in 2011 when I heard their album “Breaker”. I was blown away by their intensity and bold lyrics. Shortly after, “Immortal” was released in 2012and it was incredible. That is why I was thrilled when I heard they were going to release an EP of new material this year. After anxiously waiting I received my digital copy and, let me tell you, it was worth the wait! I really can’t wait to get the hard copy with DVD. The entire band is on fire for God and that really gives me inspiration in an industry that is so inundated with so many bands.

There are a total of 5 songs on this latest offering. Each one provides music with intensity and lyrics that reach deep into the spiritual confines of our soul. “Crown of Thorns” delivers and if you’re not spiritually uplifted by this song then you need to get on your knees! One surprise that ended up on this EP was an acoustic version of “Fearless”, from their “Immortal” album. The acoustic version really

breaks the song down into a worship hymn and is nothing short of amazing. I urge you to check out this latest release and here’s hoping they get a full length release out to the fans quick!
