Talk about a kick to the face! The band Islander came out of nowhere for me. I came to know Islander from browsing the news on HM Magazine and seen a quick blurb for FREE Music. So I clicked on the link, and watched the video for “New Colors” (video below)……WOW!

Fans of Deftones will love this band. I downloaded the FREE EP and all the songs on the album are pretty good. “Future Nostalgia” really hits the mark with simple lyrics about missing friends and good times, which we all do sometimes, right? But the last bit of the lyrics makes you think….”Are you ever disappointed the future isn’t how you planned? With flying cars, shooting stars, and nourishment in a capsule with no taste at all? “This truly speaks to our spiritual being that none of this life, as we know it, matters without true God-filled spiritual nourishment, in our present, and future. Every song on this EP, from start to finish blasts the listener and gets you grooving. “Fullerton 1978” is one of my favorites with its pedal-to-the-metal guitars, with some funky bass grooves in the bridge. I’m really looking forward to a Full album release, with the song “New Colors” included, because that song it just great!
