Roaring out of the Southlands Dreaded Dale is an American Southern-core band, which formed March 24, 2018. Mixing faith with metal, Dreaded Dale has set out to bring Christ to a generation that has all but given up on typical Christianity.

Band Members:
Mikey Root – Vocals
Zach Cullins – Guitar
Jake Neace – Guitar
Ben Robinson – Guitar
James McFadden – Bass
Braxton Burke – Drums

Set to release June 19, 2018, their EP “Wayward” has a great story to tell. In their own words, “This EP is the story of a man who fell away from God and he’s lost in a sea of his own sin. God is pursuing him, calling him back, and this is the story of him awakening and returning back to life.”

I received a Private message from Lead vocalist Mikey Root, just 3 days ago, through my Headbanging for God Facebook page. We traded messages and I told him I would like to listen to the EP and write a review for the band. Truthfully, I did not know what to expect. He sent mea link to their lyrical video for “Voices”. I was pleasantly surprised how well the song was put together, and more importantly the lyrical content behind the music.

For fans of the early “Devil Wears Prada” music, I think you are going to love this EP. When I first listened to “Voices”, it reminded me of the early days of the group. The difference is, no hiding of lyrical meaning in these songs. They are bold and in your face with the message, they are trying to deliver to their current and future fans. If you are expecting ballads, then you need to go elsewhere! This album is HARDCORE……..and I love it! Each song keeping pace with the next.

Here is a taste of that lyrical content through some excerpts from each of the songs on the EP, as provided by Mikey Root.

• 1. “Voices”
-I’m running from God. The world is trying to kill me with suicidal thoughts and regrets over past mistakes before God can bring me back. God is pursing me and calling me back.
•. 2. “Days Gone Bye”

-I’ve awoken from a deep slumber of sin. I’m starting to realize failure isn’t defeat and I want more than what this world can offer me.
• 3. “Silencer”
-I’m pleading with God to search me to reveal all my defects so I can be the man I was meant to be and not this mess of a man I’ve let myself become.
• 4. “Belly of The Beast”

-God has shown me who I’ve been and where I can be. Now I’m asking God to take everything bad out of me that’s he’s revealed and realizing that no matter how much I fail God still loves me. It’s time for my victory.
• 5. “Settling The Score”
-I’m leaving the past behind. I’m realizing my failures can no longer hold me back from my destiny and who I’m meant to be.
• 6. “Bury Your Dead”

-I’ve see who I’ve been, I’ve let the light consume me. It’s time for me to bury my dead once andfor all and follow the light of God until I reach my promised land.

Here’s another reason why I like from this band………Mikey Root told me that 100% of the proceeds from this EP were going towards the Christian Outreach called “Short Creek Dream Center”. That’s a remarkable cause, and shows the character of this band.

Truly a great effort by Dreaded Dale! The band has a bright future. Keep them in your prayers that they get the opportunity to spread the good news to a wider audience, and SHARE-SHARE-SHARE!!! Here is a link to their Facebook Page with the video to “Voices”. You will not be
disappointed! Go to their Facebook page and give them a “LIKE”, and share the video!

The “Wayward” EP drops June 19, 2018, and can be purchased online through Apple Music, iTunes, Googleplay, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, and several other streaming outlets.
