A note from the band::
“‘We are getting closer than ever to finishing and finally releasing Almost Home, the fan-funded, 2 years in the making, labor of love recording from Guardian.We’ve been out of the loop for awhile and would love to reconnect with all who still have ears for Guardian.”
When describing the album title, founder, David Bach, had this to say:
“We finally finished the recording of the first full Guardian album in over 15 years. It only took a year longer than expected to complete. I say that with bittersweet sarcasm…as we succeeded in not only irritating our loyal core fan base—but we also tested the limits of our friendship with each other as well. We still have some mixing and mastering to do but the labor of love is mostly over. It won’t be long now until we foist it on an unsuspecting public.
As I reflect on the words we wrote for the 10 songs, I realize that it’s quite a confessional album. Lots of songs about getting old…Ha! But more than that, it’s an interesting look at the life journey we’ve each been on over the past 15 years.
The album is titled “Almost Home”. It could have also easily been titled any of the following:
Almost Broke – Almost Dead – Almost Done – Almost Old – Almost Divorced – Almost Crazy – Almost Beaten – Almost Out – Almost Good
Almost Home can mean a lot of things…depending on your perspective.
It’s hard to compare this record to the ones we made when we were a younger band in our heyday. Hopefully some people will like it. It’s honest…if nothing else.”
